I found Tijuana to be a modern, large, and colorful city. It is a well-known spot for the day trippers who simply want to hop around the city and experience some Mexican color, do some shopping, and eat some great food. However, I found out that the city has a lot more to offer than the usual tourist drag. Check out some of the things that you can enjoy around Tijuana.
- Take a walk around Avenida Revolución
Also known as the La Revu is one of the main tourist destinations of the city. In case you want to do some touristy thing, get a sombrero and get your photo taken with donkeys that have is painted like a zebra. After this, you can simply take a chance to discover restaurants, shops, and galleries which you find in this stretch. You will find more than just postcards, shirts, and cheap medicine shops.
- Check out a Traditional Market
Apart from getting a modern shopping experience, there is a traditional Mexican market that you can check out. I found a few of them. Mercado Hidalgo is centrally located and you will find local cheese, stacked fruits that are creatively stacked, and a wide range of goods from Central and South Mexico. Have some snacks and candies.
- Explore the Bullring by Sea
People call this is an art form. However, there are some people who call this horrendous form of animal abuse. The truth is bullfighting isn’t for everyone. The tradition had been imported from Spain and became popular in Mexico, especially in the northern part of the country. Here, you will also get to see some of the most iconic buildings in the city. These buildings can accommodate around 20,000 people. It is surely a unique location.
